PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN CLT BERBASIS PROSES (PROSES-BASED CLT APPROACH) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIDATO SISWA SMP

Abstract


Salah satu kompetensi dasar yang harus dikuasai peserta didik pada jenjang SMP pada aspek berbicara adalah berpidato. Namun, beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berbicara selalu menjadi keterampilan yang paling menantang di antara peserta didik. Peserta didik mengalami kecemasan saat berbicara di hadapan audiens. Untuk membantu peserta didik meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara terutama dalam hal berpidato, dapat menggunakan pendekatan CLT berbasis proses (process-based CLT approach). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana penerapan pendekatan communicative language teaching berbasis proses (process-based CLT approach) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpidato siswa SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, data dalam penelitian ini bersumber dari penelitian sebelumnya atau penelitian yang relevan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan CLT berbasis proses memungkinkan siswa untuk berpartisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas. Peran guru dalam pendekatan CLT berbasis proses adalah sebagai pengontrol, pembimbing, partisipan/peserta, sumber ilmu, dan tutor. Selanjutnya, peran peserta didik dalam penerapan pendekatan CLT berbasis proses adalah untuk terlibat atau berpartisipasi secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran.
