INTEGRASI ILMU KEISLAMAN DAN SAINS MODERN: URGENSI PENDEKATAN INTERDISIPLINER DALAM PENDIDIKAN TINGGI ISLAM

Dikotomi antara ilmu agama dan ilmu umum telah menjadi permasalahan epistemologis yang mengakar dalam dunia Islam sejak era kolonialisme. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep Islamic science dan non-Islamic science dalam perspektif epistemologi Islam, menelusuri akar historis dikotomi ilmu beserta dampaknya, mendeskripsikan urgensi pendekatan interdisipliner, serta mengidentifikasi model integrasi ilmu dalam pendidikan tinggi Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kepustakaan (library research). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: pertama, perbedaan fundamental antara Islamic science dan non-Islamic science terletak pada asumsi ontologis dan epistemologis, di mana Islamic science mengakui pluralitas sumber pengetahuan (wahyu, akal, dan pengalaman) dengan wahyu sebagai sumber tertinggi; kedua, dikotomi ilmu yang berakar pada kolonialisme telah menyebabkan fragmentasi sistem pendidikan, marjinalisasi ilmu keagamaan, dan rendahnya kontribusi dunia Islam dalam pengembangan sains modern; ketiga, pendekatan interdisipliner menjadi kebutuhan mendesak karena kompleksitas permasalahan kontemporer dan kesesuaiannya dengan semangat ajaran Islam yang holistik; keempat, berbagai model integrasi seperti IOHK di IIUM Malaysia dan model Pohon Ilmu di UIN Malang telah dikembangkan meskipun menghadapi tantangan implementasi yang signifikan.
