Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of dot drill training on the agility of volleyball athletes. The method used is an experiment with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study is all members of the volleyball extracurricular activity at MA Nursyamsi, Tasikmalaya, with a sample size of 20 people selected using total sampling. The instrument used to measure agility was the T-Test Agility. Data collection was conducted before and after the dot drill training intervention over a specific period. The results of the first hypothesis test using a paired sample t-test indicated that dot drill training significantly influenced agility improvement. The results of the second hypothesis test showed that ball reaction training also significantly influenced agility improvement. Furthermore, the results of the third hypothesis test using one-way analysis of variance showed a significant difference between the two types of training in terms of agility improvement. It can be concluded that both types of training significantly improve agility, but there is a difference in effectiveness between the two. This study recommends the systematic application of dot drill and ball reaction training in training programs to improve athletes' agility.
