Minat Siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Pertanian Untuk Bekerja Pada Bidang Pertanian Di Kabupaten Jepara

Abstract

Declining interest working in the agricultural sector raises concerns about regeneration of the labor in agriculture, especially in Jepara Regency with great agricultural potential, but has not been matched by the interest of young workers to work in the agricultural sector. This study aims to analyze the interest of vocational high school students in agricultural disciplines regarding employment in the agricultural sector, analysis the factors that influence this interest, and assess the variable (X1) effects of parental involvement and variable (X2) social media usageon students' inclination to pursue careers in agriculture. The research was conducted from August 2025 to September 2025, with the research locations being four State Vocational High Schools that have agricultural majors in Agribisnis Pengolahan Hasil Pertanian (APHP) and Agribisnis Tanaman Pangan dan Hortikultura (ATPH) in Jepara Regency, namely SMK Negeri 1 Jepara, SMKN 1 Batealit, SMKN 1 Pakis Aji, and SMKN 1 Kedung. The research method used a case study. The population consists of 335 12th-grade students, using the simple random sampling method. The research sample consisted of 100 respondents. Data analysis was multiple linear regression analysis, to determine work interest and the factors influencing interest in working in the agricultural sector. The research results show that the level of interest among students in continuing to work in the agricultural sector is classified as low, influenced by the role of parents, with no significant impact between students' interest and the variables (X1) parental role and (X2) utilization of social media.
