Efisiensi Biaya Transaksi dan Tingkat Profitabilitas Petani dalam Penerapan Internet of Things dan Layanan Off-Taker: Studi Kasus Agriter pada PT. Inagri Global Teknologi

Abstract


Vegetable farming in Indonesia faces market uncertainty and low adoption of agricultural technology. The Agriter partnership at a vocational school in Cimahi City integrates the Internet of Things (IoT) and off-taker services to support technology adoption in farming activities and improve market certainty. This study aimed to evaluate transaction cost efficiency and analyze the profitability of Agriter farming under a partnership with PT. Inagri Global Teknologi, using a descriptive qualitative approach and a single-case study design. Primary data were collected through in-depth interviews, while secondary data were obtained from financial and production records. Transaction cost efficiency was analyzed using the Transaction Cost Economics (TCE) framework, while profitability was assessed using eight financial indicators. The results showed that transaction cost efficiency was high, as indicated by low monitoring and negotiation costs. Based on the TCE analysis, the partnership was classified under a vertical integration governance structure. From a financial perspective, farming performance in the first year of operation was not yet optimal, with a Net Farm Income of -IDR 310,812 and an R/C Ratio of 0.88. However, after accounting for non-financial benefits, including improvements in students’ experience and knowledge as well as employment opportunities in the agricultural sector, the Gross B/C Ratio reached 1.02, indicating that the partnership is socioeconomically feasible.
