Analisis Produksi dan Pendapatan Perkebunan Kopi Robusta di Kabupaten Tabalong, Kalimantan Selatan

Abstract


Robusta coffee is a leading plantation commodity with significant potential to support farmer livelihoods in Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan. This study aims to analyze the production and income of robusta coffee farming in three sub-districts: Jaro (Garagata Village), Haruai (Teratau Village), and Muara Uya (Santuun Village). Data were collected through a census-based survey of 60 respondent farmers. A quantitative descriptive approach was used to calculate investment costs, revenues, and farm income from year 0 to the first harvest in year 3. Results show that first-harvest productivity varied across locations: Jaro recorded the highest production at 239 kg/year, followed by Haruai at 160 kg/year and Muara Uya at 144 kg/year. Only Haruai achieved positive income of IDR 1,052,867 with a revenue-to-cost ratio of 1.17. Jaro recorded a deficit of IDR 2,225,625 due to disproportionate initial investment, while Muara Uya suffered the largest loss of IDR 3,247,844 driven by a chain of problems triggered by extreme rainfall. These findings confirm that investment efficiency and climate risk management, rather than production volume alone, determine the economic viability of robusta coffee farming in the early harvest phase.
