Focus and Scope

This journal contains the results of research or theoretical studies related to development and improvement, as follows:

  1. Education: reviewing scientific papers regarding the scope of education related to historical teaching materials;
  2. Local & National History: Explore the potential of local & National history, which is then developed into teaching materials or references;
  3. Social & Cultural: studying surrounding phenomena related to socio-culture or tradition;

Peer Review Process

Submitted manuscripts are evaluated by anonymous referees by double-blind peer review for contribution, originality, relevance, and presentation. The editor will notify you of the review results as soon as possible, hopefully between 1 - 2 months. Please note that it is possible that submission of the Manuscript to the Artifact Journal during the review process can take up to 3 months.
Reviewers examine texts from aspects of quality and substance of writing (not grammatical texts), which include freshness, originality, usefulness, and validity of citations and bibliographies.
Reviewers receive double-blind reviews of manuscripts (anonymous authors), section editors, or editorial secretariat. If it is not by his competence, the reviewer has the right to reject the manuscript and recommend it to others who are more competent.

Jurnal Artefak was published in April and September.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides direct open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

This journal is an open-access journal, which means that all content is available free of charge to users and/or institutions. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to full-text articles in this journal without prior permission from the publisher or author. This is by the Budapest Open Access Initiative-BOAI, 2002.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Publication Ethics

Jurnal Artefact is a journal published by Galuh University. This statement explains the ethical behaviour of all parties involved in publishing articles in this journal, namely authors, editors-in-chief, editors, reviewers and publishers.

TASKS OF THE PUBLISHER

Galuh University, as the publisher of the Artifact Journal, is responsible and committed to ensuring that advertising, reprints or other commercial revenues have no impact or influence on the Editor's decision. In addition, Galuh University and its editors will also assist in communication with other journals and publishers when necessary.

DUTIES OF EDITORS

Publication Decision
Editor/Editor of Artifact Journal, responsible for deciding which articles should be published based on input from peer reviews. Editors can confer with peer reviewers in making this decision.

Principles of Justice

  1. Editors evaluate manuscripts/articles regardless of the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy.
  2. The Editor will ensure that the article is by the scientific focus/scope of the journal. Responses from peer reviews will be used as a basis for the Editor to determine whether an article can be accepted (accepted), accepted with revision (accepted with major/minor revision), or rejected (rejected).
  3. An article is rejected for publication due to various considerations, including because the article is not within the scope of the Educational, Cultural and Historical sciences, the scientific side of the writing is inadequate to be classified in a scientific paper, fundamental methodological errors, or because the author refuses to make improvements provided by peer reviewers without a logical basis.
  4. The order of publication is adjusted to the order in which articles are entered, and article revisions are to the editorial board.

Concealment
Editor's confidentiality does not have to disclose any information about the submitted manuscript to anyone other than the author, including peer reviewers.

Conflict of interest
Material not published but disclosed in the manuscript may not be used in the Editor's research without the author's written consent.

Duties of Peer Reviewers (Reviewer)

  1. Peer reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions through editorial communication conveyed to the author. The assistance provided by peer reviewers concerns a content review of a manuscript/article.
  2. Any manuscript accepted for review should be treated as confidential. The manuscript should not be displayed or discussed with others except as permitted by the Editor.
  3. The review must be conducted objectively with supporting arguments according to scientific principles.

DUTIES OF THE AUTHOR

  1. The author writes manuscripts/articles based on accurate original research reports.
  2. The author writes every reference used in the manuscript according to the rules of scientific writing.
  3. The author must ensure that the manuscript written is plagiarism-free.
  4. The author can ensure that the manuscript submitted to the Artifact Journal has never been published in other media and is not being sent to other journals.
  5. The author must agree on the role of each contributor in writing the article and have agreed in advance on the writing of the primary author and co-author.
  6. The author ensures that the code of ethics carries out research activities.
  7. When the author finds significant errors or inaccuracies in his published manuscript, the author must immediately notify the journal's Editor or publisher and cooperate with the Editor to retract or correct.
