A Psychiatric Nursing Case Study on Assertive Training to Improve Self-Control in a Patient with Risk of Violent Behavior

Abstract

Risiko perilaku kekerasan merupakan masalah keperawatan jiwa yang membutuhkan intervensi psikososial efektif. Assertive Training sebagai terapi spesialis keperawatan jiwa berfokus pada peningkatan komunikasi asertif dan kontrol diri pasien, sehingga berpotensi menurunkan risiko perilaku kekerasan. Studi kasus ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi efektivitas Assertive Training dalam meningkatkan kontrol diri dan menurunkan risiko perilaku kekerasan pada pasien gangguan jiwa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi kasus pada seorang pasien laki-laki usia 23 tahun dengan diagnosis risiko perilaku kekerasan yang dirawat di ruang Geranium RSJD Soedjarwadi Klaten. Intervensi Assertive Training diberikan dalam lima sesi terstruktur setelah pasien menerima terapi keperawatan ners. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan lembar evaluasi Assertive Training yang dikembangkan Fakultas Keperawatan Universitas Indonesia terhadap perubahan sikap agresif, pasif, dan asertif sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Hasil menunjukkan penurunan sikap agresif dan pasif hingga tidak tampak, serta peningkatan yang bermakna secara klinis (clinically meaningful improvement) pada sikap asertif setelah penerapan Assertive Training. Pasien juga menunjukkan perbaikan kemampuan regulasi emosi dan komunikasi interpersonal yang lebih adaptif. Assertive Training menunjukkan potensi efektif sebagai terapi spesialis keperawatan jiwa dalam meningkatkan kontrol diri dan menurunkan risiko perilaku kekerasan pada pasien gangguan jiwa. Namun, temuan ini berasal dari desain studi kasus sehingga memiliki keterbatasan dalam generalisasi dan memerlukan penelitian lanjutan dengan desain yang lebih kuat.
