Jejak Perempuan NTT dalam Melestarikan Tradisi Tenun Ikat dan Implikasinya bagi Pendidikan Sejarah

Diana Rohi, Maria Lodika Long

Abstract

The ikat weaving tradition in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Indonesia, represents ancestral knowledge, spiritual values, regional identity, and collective social memory. This article examines women's roles in preserving NTT ikat weaving and its implications for heritage-based history education. The study employs a qualitative literature review with systematic literature search and selection procedures using Google Scholar, Scopus, SINTA, DOAJ, and Web of Science. The literature was analyzed through thematic synthesis. The findings reveal three main patterns: women transmit weaving skills and cultural values across generations; ikat weaving represents community identity and social memory; and the continuity of the tradition faces challenges related to generational renewal and limited institutional support. These findings highlight the potential of ikat weaving as a contextual and inclusive resource for local history education. Digital technologies, including Augmented Reality, may also be considered as alternative learning media.
