Authorship Criteria

Jurnal Artefak requires every individual listed as an author of a scholarly article to have made a substantial intellectual contribution to the research and manuscript. Authorship is granted to individuals who meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Substantial Contribution: Make a significant contribution to the conception or design of the study, data collection, data analysis and interpretation, or the development of the theoretical framework and scholarly arguments.
  2. Involvement in Manuscript Preparation: Participate actively in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
  3. Approval of the Final Version: Read and approve the final version of the manuscript before it is submitted for publication.
  4. Academic Accountability: Agree to be accountable for their contributions and help ensure that any issues concerning the accuracy, integrity, and ethics of the research are appropriately addressed.

All authors must meet all of the above criteria. Authorship must not be granted solely on the basis of academic position, institutional rank, personal relationships, administrative support, or research funding without a qualifying intellectual contribution. Gift authorship and ghost authorship are not permitted.

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all authors have agreed on the authorship order, approved the final manuscript, and consented to its submission to Jurnal Artefak. Individual author contributions must be disclosed transparently when requested by the editor.

Individuals who provide supporting contributions but do not meet the authorship criteria, such as administrative or technical assistance or data collection without a substantial intellectual contribution, may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section, with their consent.

Any changes to the authorship or author order after manuscript submission must be supported by a clear justification, agreed upon by all relevant authors, and approved by the editor in accordance with the journal's policies. All authors are required to uphold the principles of academic integrity and applicable scholarly publication ethics.
